Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke is a Danish NGO founded in 1944. It has later become part of the larger umbrella organisation ActionAid and it is now also known as ActionAid Denmark.

Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke works in more than 45 countries across the world. Here in Denmark much of the work is focused on empowerment of socially marginalized youth, anti-racism, work with refugees at asylum centres and to call attention to problems that might not get enough attention from the public or from the politicians.

The work in other countries is focused on rights based development where the people’s rights to everything from education to a political voice is central. The NGO-house here at Globalhagen doubles as Global Platform Denmark - one of the 10 ActionAid Global Platforms throughout the world. These platforms work to engage politically using workshops, trainings and good old fashioned activism in the streets.
